What gets carried.
The background is built rather than simply painted: stucco, stain, primer, spray, and acrylic accumulate into a dirty, worked surface. The truck is handled differently, using oil and the painted materials without the stucco so the image stays legible against the physical field around it.
The result is less a clean illustration than a surface carrying the pressure of distance, road, work, and coffee moving from one place into another.
